Description:

Β-HCG is a protein produced in the placenta during pregnancy.

Clinical Significance:

Confirms pregnancy, aids in the diagnosis of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD), testicular tumors, ovarian germ cell tumors, teratomas, and other human chorionic gonadotropins (hCG)-secreting tumors.
